The Lister Archie Scott Brown Recreation

The Lister 'Archie' Car is limited to just five examples worldwide. To celebrate 70 years since Archie Scott Brown first raced the now iconic Lister Jaguar to victory in 1957, the Lister Motor Company is recreating five very special limited editions of the 'Archie Car' - the precursor to the revered Lister Knobbly. Uniquely, the original car Archie raced in 1957 was destroyed at the end of the season to protect Brian Lister's unique IP.

Therefore, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity to own the car that redefined motorsport in the late 1950's.

Modern Engineering and Craftsmanship

Today, George Lister Engineering combines the two main attributes we see in so many of the companies which have lasted the test of time. Traditional skills and craftsmanship combined with expertise with new materials and the very latest and up to date techniques. As you walk around the factory you are more likely to see a worker with a laser in his hand than a hammer.

The jigs and plans may be old, but the engineering skills, techniques and machinery are bang up to date. All of the experience learned in racing the cars in the 1950's and with Lister Storm in the 1990's and later years is being called up with the original participants. Collin (Chippy) Crisp, Chris Keith-Lucas and Laurence Pearce are all pitching in, doing more than just lend a hand.

“Archie Scott Brown was a legend, winner and inspirational character. As such, it’s with genuine pride we’re [Lister] announcing the production of this car to honour Archie and his achievements. His success and abilities were instrumental in ensuring a Lister was a frequent visitor to the podium in the 1950s."
